Created to support the next generation of talented architects, the GeM Award offers a unique opportunity for Italian graduates to expand their horizons through study, travel, and professional experience in the UK.
Through international scholarships, cultural exchange, networking, and hands-on experience in architectural conservation, the programme is designed to inspire emerging professionals and help shape the future of architecture. The GeM Award is more than a scholarship — it is an experience that opens doors, builds connections, and creates lasting opportunities for young architects to pursue their ambitions on an international stage.
award aims
Acquiring experience and networking opportunities with specialists and professionals in recreational study relating to architecture, engineering, planning, and archaeology including site visits.
Access to important conservation organisations like Historic England, the National Trust, the SPAB, The Landmark Trust and other charities involved in the conservation of historic buildings in the UK.
Attending relevant conservation courses and volunteering with organisations like the RICS Conservation Course and/or the SPAB Historic Buildings Repairs Course and working party.
